Sensitivity of newborn mice to carcinogenic agents.

چکیده
The organ cultivation of lung tissue can be used to study the differences in the age reaction to blastomogenic action and to screen and test new carcinogenic agents, especially water-soluble substances. Comparison of the results of transplacental and immediate introduction of some blastomogenic compounds into organ cultures of the lung can provide new information on the mechanisms of their action. For example, my own observations incline to the opinion that the blastomogenic action of urethane is indirect.

Fluorescence Studies on Cancer* I. Porphyrin Metabolism, Harderian Gland Fluorescence, and Susceptibility to Carcinogenic Agents
It is well known that different species (8, 14, 35, 36, 44) and different organs and tissues (45) vary greatly in their susceptibility to carcinogenic agents. The only animals that have been extremely susceptible to the induction of tumors by means of physical and pure chemical agents are mice and rats. It has been found difficult and frequently impossible to produce tumors by the same methods ...
متن کاملDo sweetening agents interact with morphine-induced analgesia in the formalin test in mice?
There is evidence that sweeteners such as sucrose and saccharin interact with endogenous opioid systems. Further research has shown that feeding different concentrations of sucrose and saccharin alter latency in the tail-flick test. In this study, the influence of a 12-day regimen of different sweetening agents, sucrose (32%), saccharin (0.08%) and aspartame (0.16%) on morphine-induced analge...
متن کاملChemical liver carcinogenesis: monitoring of the process by flow cytometric DNA measurements.
The carcinogenic process in the liver was monitored from early nonneoplastic changes to the development of tumors in two well-known models; IP administration of dimethylnitrosamine (DMN) to newborn mice, and feeding of rats with acetylaminofluorene (AAF). Liver parenchyma cells and liver tumor cells were isolated by collagenase treatment and prepared for flow cytometric (FCM) measurements of nu...
متن کاملTumor induction in C57BL-6 mice by a single administration of cycasin.
The incidence and localization of tumors in newborn and adult mice of the C57BL/6 strain that received cycasin were compared with similar groups of rats on which results were previously reported. In the present report the newborn mice received single subcutaneous injections of 0.5 mg cycasin/gm body weight within 24 hours after birth. Each adult animal received one dose of 0 .3-1 .0 mg cycasin/...
متن کاملQualitative and Quantitative Analysis of the Effects of Quinazolinones on Internal Organs of Newborn Balb/C Mice
Objective(s) Quinazolinones are heterocyclic compounds, with biological and pharmacological activities, such as inhibiting some proteins, enzymes and reducing blood lipids. Materials and Methods Following previous results of our group, effects of two new derivatives of quinazolinones 9(3)-quinazolinone-2-propyl-2-phenylethyl (QPPE) and 9(3)-quinazolinone-2-ethyl-2-phenylethyl (QEPE) on liver...
